Experience! The Finger Lakes COVID-19 Health & Safety Policies and Procedures

What we are doing to keep you safe on our tours.

Experience Finger Lakes logo

At Experience! The Finger Lakes, our number one priority is providing a safe and healthy environment for our guests, tour guides, and community on all our tours. To ensure this, we will be enacting the following procedures on all tours while COVID-19 remains a risk in our region.

Health Screening:

  • All tour guides will have their temperatures taken and will answer a series of health screening questions before their scheduled tour. Any indications of a temperature of 100.5 or above or possible illness from answers to the questionnaire will not be able to work and we will do whatever is possible to reassign the tour. If a replacement guide is not available, the tour will be canceled and refunds will be issued.
  • All guests participating in Experience! The Finger Lakes Tours will be asked screening questions and have their temperatures taken by their tour guide before entering the vehicle.

Screening questions to guests will include:

      • Are you feeling well today?
      • Do you have a loss of taste or smell?
      • Are you caring for someone that is ill, or have you had contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks?
      • In the last 2 weeks have you been in a place were COVID-19 is spreading?

Prior to boarding, a non-touch forehead thermometer will be used to measure and record each guests’ temperature. For COVID-19 tracing, Experience! The Finger Lakes will keep this information on file in our office and only disclose it to the NYS Department of Health, if required. In the event of a “positive” contact through tracing, we will notify the guests on that day’s tour and the destinations visited that day. We will only disclose a “positive” contact and not identify the individual(s).

If a guest has a recorded temperature of 100.5 or above, or responds with a yes to any of the screening questions, the guest will not be allowed to board the vehicle. They will have the option to receive a full refund or reschedule their tour to a different date.

Social Distancing:

  • Tours in our Ford Transits and Mercedes Metris will be booked and occupied by no more than 50% of max occupancy.
  • Venues on our tours are required to host our guests using safe social distancing and cleaning practices. If any venue is not abiding with these requirements set forth by the State of NY, the group will leave the premises.
  • Seats in tour vehicles that can not be occupied due to safe social distancing will be marked as unavailable.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Tour guides and guests must wear face coverings at all times in the vehicle. Tour guides must wear their face coverings at all times while on their tour. Guests must wear their face coverings at all times except when they are participating in their tastings or meal. It is expected that guests will be traveling with their own face covering. If they do not have one at the time of the tour, E!FLX will provide them one.
  • All vehicles will have a plexi-glass shield to separate the driver’s cabin from the passenger cabin. Guests will not be permitted to sit in the driver’s cabin passenger seat, or enter the driver cabin during any portion of the tour, for both their safety, and the safety of the tour guides.

Sanitation/Cleaning:

  • Each tour van will be equipped with hand sanitizer of a minimum 60% alcohol. Tour guides are required to ensure that all guests apply provided sanitizer every time they enter the van and then again upon exiting.
  • E!FLX will adhere to hygiene and sanitation requirements from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH), and maintain a cleaning log on each vehicle that documents date, time, and scope of cleaning.  All vehicles will receive a final disinfectant application the end of each cleaning using a ULV Cold Disinfectant Fogger with a CDC-approved sanitizing solution.
