Learn all there is to know about wine from Laura Winter Falk, Certified Sommelier, including what you are tasting in a wine, the different types of wine that are out there, and how you might go about pairing food with wine.

Laura is a professor of wine at Tompkins County Community College, where she teaches wine classes that are open to the public. The most popular of these classes are Survey of Wine & Alcoholic Beverages (WINE120), Sensory Evaluation for Wine & Food Pairing (WINE200), and Beverages Studies (WINE202). I am a non-traditional student and took your Wine120 wine class purely to learn for my own personal enjoyment. The benefits were far greater than I expected. Here are a few of the surprising benefits: It was fun being in class with students studying this as a profession, the combination of reading, lecture, discussion, quizzes, exams, and tasting really makes the topic tangible and the information stick, your personal experience with the regions and wines made it more real, fun and interesting, and the extra focus on NY wines was a topic of personal interest and super interesting.
