This full-day curated wine tour delivers two exceptional winery experiences on Seneca Lake. Experience premium tastings at two sommelier-vetted wineries. Tour the vineyards, learn how to pair wine with foods, and explore Finger Lakes wines from both classic and emerging varietals.
Curated tours of 4-6 guests are private tasting experiences at each winery. Parties of two could include a second party of two at each of your tastings. We book the reservations for you and send you the itinerary complete with times of each reservation. We give you vetted recommendations for lunch. All The Details:
Paul Hobbs is a renowned winemaker with wineries around the world. Raised in western New York, he built Hillick & Hobbs Estate as an homage to his parents, and a mission to create world class Riesling. You will begin your tour at Hillick & Hobbs with a Welcome Wine and a brief introduction to Paul Hobbs’ wine making and grape growing philosophy. With glass in hand, head into the vineyard for a tour of their estate vines with slopes from 10 – 55 degrees elevation! Afterwards, enjoy a private tasting flight of their exceptional rieslings and paired bites in the elegant contemporary tasting room. (Please wear appropriate shoes for walking in the vineyards).
After a break for lunch (we recommend our favorite place), you will visit another winery owned by a world-class winemaker. In 2021, Fred Werwarth was awarded Wine Enthusiast Winemaker of the Year. Standing Stone Vineyards is his historic vineyard site with 50 year vines planted by vinifera winemaking pioneers. You will enjoy a private tasting featuring a flight selected by our sommelier to showcase the excellence coming out of the vineyard. Discover their sustainably grown Chardonnay, a series of wines from the exotic grape Saperavi, and other excellent wines curated just for you. The tasting flight includes 6 pours of 2.5 ounce caraffes designed to be shared by 2 people, along with delicious focaccia for pairing.
