Join Certified Sommelier, owner of Experience! The Finger Lakes, and Wine Marketing Instructor, Laura Winter Falk, PhD, as she shares wine from across the world paired with Finger Lakes wines in this limited four-part series.
Learn about the different wine regions, the presented varietals, and the stories behind each wine, while experiencing sommelier-curated, locally-sourced food pairings to complement and enhance flavors. These tastings will showcase how the terroir dramatically impacts grape varietals, creating unique and complex flavors from region to region. Each experience is designed for you to learn for yourselves how Finger Lakes wines hold their own alongside some of the world’s finest.

This tasting event will focus on the cool-climate varietals grown in both the Finger Lakes and Austria, featuring Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, and Blaufränkisch.

Our second event in this series will focus on the wines of Northern Italy and the Finger Lakes, featuring Sparkling, Sangiovese Dry Rosé, and Teroldego.

Our third event in this series brings us to the other side of the world. Explore Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir from both regions, paired with culinary bites to bring out the unique flavors and complexity of these wines.
Friday, November 13, 2020 — 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
We conclude our tasting series with the Pacific Northwest in rugged and wild Washington State. Sample the complex flavors of Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, paired with local foods grown in both regions.
Friday, December 4, 2020 — 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Events will be held one Friday a month from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, September through December 2020, both on-site and virtually. This series is hosted by Experience! The Finger Lakes and the Coltivare Culinary Center, and it is expected to be both fun and educational as we enjoy learning about the characteristics of wine from both home and abroad.
After the tasting, enjoy dinner at Coltivare! Each on-site wine tasting guest will receive a voucher for a complimentary dessert with the purchase of a dinner entrée that evening.
